FORTE PIANO PROGRAM

More Than Piano Lessons

Whole-body, research-based music learning

Why Forte?

Children Learn Music by Doing Music

Young children naturally learn through movement, imitation, listening, repetition, play, and exploration.

Forte builds those elements directly into every class.

Students don’t simply sit at the piano for an entire lesson. Depending on the activity, they may:

  • Play the piano

  • Sing

  • Dramatize

  • Move to music

  • Clap and perform rhythms

  • Listen and respond

  • Play musical games

  • Develop aural skills

  • Explore musical patterns

  • Improvise and create

  • Work with other young musicians and parents

The result is a whole-body musical experience designed to build strong musical foundations while keeping children actively involved.

Built For How Children Learn

Forte’s teaching approach draws on established principles of music education, child development, and active learning.

Instead of asking young students to remain seated and concentrate on one task for an entire lesson, classes intentionally alternate between different types of musical activity.

That variety helps children stay engaged while reinforcing the same musical concepts in several different ways.

They hear it.

They sing it.

They move it.

They understand it.

Then they play it.

Forte At Melomania

Melomania Music & Arts Studio is excited to bring the Forte approach to families in Cumming and the surrounding Forsyth County community. We are proud to be the only music school in the area licensed and certified to conduct the program.

Our goal isn’t simply to teach children how to press the correct piano keys.

We want them to develop the skills to hear, understand, create, and express music, and to grow as musicians.
